'Credit to India': Jos Buttler after losing to India in SF

“I think India certainly outplayed us. We let them get 20-25 runs too many. It was a challenging surface and credit to them for outplaying us. Two years down. Different conditions. Credit to India for adapting to the conditions really well and they deserved to win. They have got fantastic spinners. Our spinners bowled well and in hindsight, should have bowled Moeen with the way spinners were bowling. But they got to a good total and it was a tough chase," Jos Buttler said in the post-match interview.

Jos Buttler added that he is proud of his team for their overall performance throughout the tournament.

“I think everything that has happened throughout the tournament, I'm proud of the boys. Through the adversity, we have stuck through as a group but we didn't step up when it was needed the most," he stated.

Chasing 172 runs for a win, England captain Jos Buttler himself pumped out a sequence of confident boundaries at the top to race to a 14-ball 23* in just three overs.

However, his dismissal at the hands of Axar Patel triggered a colossal batting collapse within the English camp as they folded up for just 103 in 16.4 overs.
