'If Anyone Messages..,' KL Rahul’s Witty Response To His Friends Asking For Match Tickets

KL Rahul has roared back to form after suffering a thigh injury in this year's IPL edition, threatening to curtail his World Cup ambitions. Upon his return, the 31-year-old smashed an unbeaten 111* (106), which helped India set the tone for a crushing victory against Pakistan in the Super Four Asia Cup fixture. 

Besides, Rahul also showed maturity as a captain in the ongoing home ODI series against Australia, where he scored a valiant 58* (63) to steer India to a clinical victory.

While his recent form with the bat has been exceptionally spot-on, Rahul insists that he wants to maintain his focus on his game. In his latest interaction with JioCinema, Rahul revealed that he has received numerous requests for World Cup match tickets from members of his close circle. 

He further added that he will not be responding to such requests and intends to amply his game prior to the build-up to the World Cup. 

"If anyone messages me for match tickets, I am not going to respond. Not trying to be arrogant or rude, just want to stay away from that and focus on the game," Rahul said. 

Prior to his return, there was a growing concern amongst his followers surrounding his fitness and whether he would be able to deliver with the same intensity. But after witnessing Rahul's splendid show with the bat in the recently concluded Asia Cup fixture, all those concerns have been put to rest.

“Everyone has seen me playing in the Asia Cup, I played all the games in the Super Fours. I kept behind the wickets, batted and scored runs as well, so I think that question is answered for everyone who were concerned about my fitness," the batter added.

Rahul has a vital role to play in the ongoing ODI series against Australia before heading into the World Cup. He would be hoping to dazzle the selectors with his swashbuckling performance.
