While speaking to JioCinema, Rahul recalled the exhilarating atmosphere in Bengaluru on the night M.S. Dhoni delivered the victorious six against Sri Lanka. Rahul said he was with a group of friends in Bangalore when they witnessed the team losing two early wickets.

He added that they felt it was a lost cause and decided to leave early, anticipating post-match traffic. But upon reaching home, they were pleasantly surprised to see partnerships forming, first between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli and later between Gambhir and Dhoni.

"I was in Bangalore and watching the games with a few friends. I remember when we lost two quick wickets, all of us thought the game was gone. We all went back home, fearing that the traffic might get worse after the end of the game. And then, as soon we reached home, the partnership was happening. Gautam bhai and Virat were in a decent partnership and then Gauti (Gambhir) bhai and Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai partnership," said Rahul.

Rahul further revealed that they headed to the busiest part of Bangalore after the victory. He stated that the celebration and energy there were evident, with crowds expressing immense joy.

The Indian stumper also emphasised that it wasn't just a win for the team but a monumental moment of pride for the nation. He hoped they could replicate such a moment, vowing to give their utmost in World Cup 2023.

"Once we won the game, we ended up driving to the busiest area in Bangalore and it was something! It was a scene, everyone was jumping and celebrating. There was so much joy. It was a proud moment for all of us as Indians and hopefully, we can recreate it for the people in our country. Give it everything that we have, more than our best for the next couple of months," added the 31-year-old.

With the World Cup on the horizon, Indian fans will have their hopes pinned on a victorious performance. And with players like Rahul leading the charge, the dream doesn't seem too far-fetched.
