In recent news, Umar Amin has expressed confidence in his recent performances in domestic cricket and also claimed to be among the top three performers in both white-ball and red-ball formats.

Umar Amin Keen To Make Comeback For Pakistan

He last represented his country in January 2018 and was not part of Pakistan's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup or the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh

Umar Amin highlighted his consistent domestic performances, particularly his recent 177 for Pakistan A against Bangladesh A in a four-day match in Islamabad.

“Well, since I was dropped from the team, I’ve been playing all three formats. I try to give my best performance in all of them. If you look at my performances in the recent past, whether in red-ball or white-ball cricket, I’m definitely among the top three cricketers, especially in red-ball cricket, I think I would be number one if you consider the performances of the last five or six years,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

The 34-year-old cricketer believes his track record over the past five to six years, especially in red-ball cricket, makes him deserving of a recall to the national team.

He even went as far as to rate himself as the best red-ball cricketer in Pakistan based on his recent performances. He also stated that he hopes his domestic achievements will catch the attention of the national selectors.

Umar Amin Recent Performance Vs Bangladesh A

Pakistan Shaheens had a strong showing in their four-day match against Bangladesh A, despite the match ending in a draw due to rain interruptions. The third day was completely washed out, and only 39.2 overs were possible on the final day. However, Pakistan Shaheens established a commanding position earlier in the match.

In the first innings, Bangladesh A struggled, being bowled out for just 122 runs. Pakistan Shaheens responded with a powerful batting display, and ended the second day with a lead of 245 runs, having scored 367 for 4 in 90 overs.

Umar Amin was the standout performer for Pakistan Shaheens, as he scored a remarkable 177 runs. His innings was a mix of patience and aggression, in his well-constructed innings, he struck 23 boundaries and three sixes, which helped Pakistan Shaheens secure a strong lead.

The rain on the last two days prevented Pakistan Shaheens from capitalising on their dominant position, and Bangladesh A managed to avoid a defeat by holding out in their second innings, and the match was drawn.
