In the latest development, Suresh Raina recently expressed his opinion that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should have participated in the 2024 Duleep Trophy.

According to the reports of Sports Tak, Suresh Raina stated the importance of playing in the domestic tournament and also emphasised that the duo should have played in the red-ball format.

He also mentioned that would have been an ideal way for Rohit and Virat to prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

“They should have played as the team hasn’t played red-ball cricket for a long time. If you are heading into a busy home season, you need practice with the red ball. I think they are mature enough, and they know what needs to be done as players. Sometimes family time becomes very important,” he said on Sports Tak.

However, Raina also acknowledged the importance of players spending time with their families, which indicates that personal time is crucial for their well-being.

He added that both Kohli and Sharma are experienced enough to know what they need to do to be ready for the home Test matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

When Will Virat And Rohit Next Play For India?

The Duleep Trophy will start on September 5, however, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the Bangladesh Test tour of India that is scheduled on September 19. Following this, the 'Men in Blue' will play against New Zealand and then will head on to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
