Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star Nitish Kumar Reddy opened up about his first meeting with SRH skipper Pat Cummins, who was acquired in the December 2023 IPL auction for 20.50 crore, replacing Aiden Markram as captain.

In an interview, Nitish Reddy recalled his initial encounter with Pat Cummins and how the skipper knew about his batting abilities, which left him shocked.

"I did well in practice games, coaches were impressed but I wanted my skipper to know - as Pat Cummins joined just 3 days before IPL so I was like 'Does he know how I play & how I approach the game?' - but when he joined, he told 'Nitish, you are playing very well' - I was shocked, because he didint see the practice game and then I asked him about this - he told he watched my batting videos in YouTube & it was a great boost for me".

Under Cummins' leadership, the 21-year-old emerging star had an impressive season, scoring 303 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 142.92. In his second season, Reddy showcased his batting prowess and made significant contributions to the team.

Fast forward to today, Reddy's exceptional performances earned him a spot on the India tour of Zimbabwe. However, he was ruled out due to a hernia injury.
