There was finally some respite for the Men in Blue and their avid supporters as India prevailed in a nail-biting run-chase to castle Australia in the first T20I match at Visakhapatnam.

Following the conclusion of a disappointing World Cup Final on November 19, the Indian cricket team has finally been able to redeem themselves.

The dominant batting performances from Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Rinku Singh allowed India to get over the line with one ball to spare. Suryakumar’s match-winning innings of 80 (42) held the Indian innings together in an intense run-chase. Despite, Suryakumar being the epicenter of India’s memorable win last night, there was one man who emerged as a key figure in India’s epic run-chase.

It was none other than the dynamic Rinku Singh who played a dazzling cameo of 22* (14) to hit the finishing runs for his side. With only one run needed in the final delivery of the innings, Rinku stood tall and dispatched a juicy half volley off the bowling of Sean Abbott over long on for a six.

But he was eventually denied a six as a late no-ball check revealed that Abbott had overstepped. Nevertheless, he punched 4 fours in his short-lived innings and could have had a maximum under his belt had Abbott not overstepped.

Following the conclusion of a match, he disclosed that he had immense faith in his abilities to lead the team to victory on the final ball, and he successfully accomplished his goal.

”I was confident to finish the match and win the match for my team on the last ball," Rinku said after the match.

After going 1-0 up in the series, team India will now head to Thiruvananthapuram to play their second T20I match which will take place on November 26.
