Suryakumar Yadav made amends for his World Cup 2023 disappointment on Thursday by playing an outrageous supla shot in his first game as India's captain. The swashbuckling batsman went bonkers against Jason Behrendorff, bringing joy to fans across Visakhapatnam Stadium.

It was the last ball of the fourth over by Behrendorff, which was a back-of-a-length delivery by the left-arm quick. SKY was ready for it, pulling it perfectly in his trademark style before lofting it way over the fine leg boundary for six.

Chasing 209, the Men in Blue, as of writing, are in a commanding position against Australia in the first T20I of the five-match series. The SKY-led side have raced to 113/2 in 10.5 overs, with SKY himself batting on 46* off 26 balls, whereas Ishan Kishan is batting on 40* off 31 balls.

For Australia, Matthew Short picked up the only wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who fell after scoring a quickfire nine-ball 21. Ruturaj Gaikwad, on the other hand, departed on a golden duck after a huge mix-up with Jaiswal in the first over of the innings.

Meanwhile, India still require 81 runs off 47 balls to go 1-0 up in the five-match series.
