On Wednesday, August 13, Pakistan cricket reached a new low as West Indies handed the Mohammad Rizwan-led side a 202-run defeat in the series-decider to win the series 2-1. Notably, it was the West Indies' first ODI series win against Pakistan in 34 years.
Following the series defeat, the senior players Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and a few others have been heavily criticised, and the pundits have slammed the players for their underwhelming performance in the Caribbean.
Basit Ali Slams Pakistan's Shambolic Show In WI
Further, the shambolic performance has gone ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, which starts from September 9. Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has torn into the Men in Green with his assessment and issued an India warning for the Asia Cup 2025.
Notably, Ali urged India to withdraw from the Asia Cup 2025 match against Pakistan so that the Mohammad Rizwan-led side would be saved from humiliation and embarrassment. Ali remarked that if Pakistan face India, then the latter will thrash the Men in Green like no one else.
“I pray India refuse to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. Itni buri tarah maarenge na vo, ki aapki soch hai (They will beat us so badly you can't even imagine). If we lose to Afghanistan, no one would care much in this country. But everyone goes mad the moment you lose to India,” Basit said on The Game Plan YouTube channel.
Notably, India is all set to take on Pakistan on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium. However, there is a lot of backlash over India's decision to cut all diplomatic ties with Pakistan post-operation Sindoor, as the government decided to cut all diplomatic ties with the neighbours.
At present, the match is on, but the fans are not slowing down the protests and it is likely that the board might be forced to take a step as Asia Cup gets near.
