Sanju Samson Reflects on RR's IPL Qualifier 2 Loss

RR captain Sanju Samson expressed his thoughts after the game. He acknowledged the commendable effort of his bowlers despite the team's overall shortfall. Discussing the unpredictable conditions, Samson said,

"It was hard to assess and guess when dew would come, it didn't come and it started turning a lot in the second innings which made things difficult for us."

The unexpected turn of the ball added to the challenges faced by RR during their chase. Samson also reflected on the team's batting strategy, adding:

"When the ball was stopping and turning, we could have used the crease a bit better but they (Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma) bowled well and didn't give us anything to work with."

He praised the opposition bowlers for their effective performance that restricted RR's scoring opportunities. Highlighting the positives from the season, Samson stated,

"We have had some brilliant games, not only this season but in the last three seasons. We have had a few youngsters coming up who are exciting prospects for not only RR but for India as well."

He expressed optimism about the young talents emerging from the team. Samson also lauded Sandeep Sharma's performance, saying:

"The way he has bowled this year is remarkable. You look at his numbers, coming up in difficult situations, and executing his plans. happy with him."

Sharma's consistent bowling has been a standout feature for RR this season.

Looking ahead to the final, Samson acknowledged the strength of SRH's batting lineup and KKR's confidence.

This win secured SRH's spot in their third IPL final, where they will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday in a repeat of Qualifier 1.
