‘I Am Not…’: Tamim Iqbal Makes Another Shocking Statement On Shakib Al Hasan

Veteran Bangladeshi batsman Tamim Iqbal responded to an indirect dig from his former friend Shakib Al Hasan, stating that everyone has their own perspective and way of expressing themselves.
Shakib's remark, "Amar Bat, Ami Khelbo" (My terms, my play), was interpreted by many as aimed at Tamim, prompting questions during Tamim's interview with Khelajog. His response was measured, acknowledging individual differences, he said:
"Every individual has its own personality. Every individual has its own way of thinking and saying things. I am not someone who will come out on media about my colleague."
Tamim's omission from Bangladesh's World Cup squad due to fitness concerns stirred controversy, especially after reports emerged that he was asked to bat in the middle order, contrary to his usual opener role. Feeling slighted, Tamim perceived it as a deliberate attempt to sideline him, while Shakib suggested that players should be flexible for the team's benefit.
During the ODI World Cup, Shakib openly criticized Tamim for what he deemed as immature behavior, leading to strained relations between the two. This tension escalated when Tamim was excluded from the World Cup squad, sparking a public feud.
Their animosity spilled over to the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 event, where they avoided each other. Tamim's mocking celebration of Shakib's dismissal during a match further fueled the controversy, capturing widespread attention online.
Despite the discord, Tamim had a stellar BPL 2024 season with the bat as he led Fortune Barishal to the title win. The southpaw emerged as the tournament's top run-scorer with 492 runs in 15 matches.
As of now, both Tamim and Shakib currently find themselves out of the national team, with no clarity on their potential return, leaving their future in limbo amidst ongoing speculation.
