A Test series in India against the home nation is a tough contest, and England despite putting up a good show, suffered a thumping 1-4 defeat in the recently concluded five-match tourney.

Under Ben Stokes, England started brilliantly winning the first encounter at Hyderabad, but since faltered in crucial moments across the remaining four matches and handed India its 17th straight red-ball series win at home, where Three Lions pacer James Anderson ended up lauding Rohit Sharma and Co.

Anderson, who toured India for the sixth time, did not have the most impressive series, which saw England's leading Test pacer claim his 700th scalp apart from picking 10 wickets in four matches.

Sharing his experience, Anderson took to social media platform 'Instagram' and first congratulated Team India for their win, and looked forward to playing in the summer in England.

James Anderson Praises Rohit Sharma & Co.

"A tough end to the series. India just too good this time. We gave it everything the last couple of months. Love being part of this test team and we’ll keep striving to improve and entertain. Thanks for all the support from back home and especially those who travelled. See you in the summer."

After suffering a loss in the first Test, Sharma led his team of youngsters with gusto, wherein the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Akash Deep rose to the occasion and helped India out of the ditch across the series, eventually taking home the trophy with a 4-1 margin.
