Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra anticipates a stellar IPL 2024 campaign for Mumbai Indians' opener Ishan Kishan, expecting him to make a significant impact with the bat.

It's worth mentioning that Ishan Kishan was recently excluded from the BCCI central contract roster following his decision to opt out of the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

Ishan returned to India amid the South Africa tour and missed the two-match Test series against the hosts. Later, his non-inclusion in the subsequent assignments hinted at his possible feud with the Indian management.

However, despite the recent blows, Chopra remains optimistic that Ishan will be motivated to perform well and reclaim his place in the Indian team, particularly with the T20 World Cup looming right after IPL 2024.

Here's what the renowned commentator said on his YouTube channel:

“Ishan Kishan will be hungry, as he has not got a central contract. This is the only thing he is playing. What else is he playing?”

Touching upon his exclusion from the England series and reported hesitancy towards domestic cricket, Chopra advocates for Kishan to utilise the IPL 2024 as an opportunity for revival. He added:

“Either he has himself opted not to play, or he won't be selected now. So this is his chance. If you make the IPL your own, you have chances of going forward. Then there is, of course, Wankhede's flat pitch. The ball will come nicely onto the bat and go far.”

The Indian Premier League 2024 season is going to be a great opportunity for the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan to perform at their best and earn a spot in the Indian cricket team, who will be travelling to the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024.
