The sight of Rohit Sharma walking off the field with teary eyes after the World Cup 2023 final loss is still haunting millions of cricket fans around the world. The man admitted some days back that he found it quite difficult to move on, but was happy with how the team performed in the home World Cup.

Now, with new horizons to capture as India gear up for Test series against South Africa, Rohit Sharma was once again asked about the heartbreaking World Cup loss. Rohit replied with his usual no fuss attitude that the way they played in the World Cup, they expected to go all the way.

The Indian skipper admitted that they did not do some things right in the final and it cost them and added that it is hard after a loss like that. Rohit though emphasised the fact that it is important to move on and look forward and credited people around for motivating the team. He also stated that he is batting quite well and whatever is in front of him, he is looking forward to it.

"The way we played in the World Cup, you expect to go all the way. We worked hard for the cup. There are certain things we didn't do well in the final. It is hard after a loss like that. But you got to find a way to move on and look forward. We got a lot of encouragement from the outside world. That motivated me personally. As a batter, I am batting as well I could. Whatever is in front of me, I'll look forward to it."

India is set to play Boxing Day Test match against South Africa, the first of the two-match Test series at the beautiful SuperSport Park, Centurion.
