KKR-Famed Spinner Files Police Complaint Against Ex-Girlfriend

Mizoram spinner KC Cariappa has filed a police complaint against his ex-girlfriend, alleging that the latter threatened to end his cricket career.

Cariappa was part of the Rajasthan Royals camp from IPL 2021 onwards until he was released by the franchise before the IPL 2024 auction.


KC Cariappa files complaint against ex-girlfriend

Former Rajasthan Royals star KC Cariappa has filed a complaint against his ex-girlfriend to Bagalagunte police in Bengaluru, nearly a year after she had made a complaint against him.

As per Cariappa, his ex-girlfriend had threatened to end his cricket career and also added that she had previously warned the cricketer’s family members.

The 29-year-old bowler further stated that he befriended the Kodagu-based woman and had fallen in love, but he was forced to end his relationship because the woman was a “drug addict, an alcoholic and promiscuous.”

According to a report by the Times of India, the woman had also registered a case against KC Cariappa on December 31, 2022; claiming that he had gotten her pregnant and forcibly fed her abortion pills.

KC Cariappa commenced his IPL journey through the KKR franchise in their 2015 match against the RCB at Eden Gardens. Despite starring in the lone game he played for them that season, the cricketer was released by the franchise the following year where he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) for the subsequent two-year period.

Cariappa was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals management prior to IPL 2021. While he stayed at the franchise for three seasons, he did not receive a single crack in the playing XI and was released by them ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
