In a thrilling turn of events during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, USA's left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar has emerged as a standout performer.

His Super Over heroics against Pakistan had already made headlines, and his recent performance against India has solidified his reputation on the international stage.

Netravalkar Dismisses Kohli & Rohit

Saurabh Netravalkar's impressive ability to take crucial wickets was on full display as he claimed the prized scalps of Indian cricket stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

In a Group A clash at Nassau Stadium in New York on Wednesday, Netravalkar stunned the crowd by dismissing Kohli for a golden duck. Kohli, attempting to navigate a delivery curving towards the offside, edged the ball straight into the gloves of wicketkeeper Andries Gous.

Netravalkar continued his onslaught by taking out Indian captain Rohit Sharma for just 3 runs. A full-length delivery that gripped the pitch slightly caused Rohit to mistime his shot, resulting in a leading edge. Harmeet Singh, running back from mid-off, secured the catch, leaving India reeling at 10/2 in their chase of 111 runs.

Reflecting on this spectacular performance, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar said, "Saurabh Netravalkar will tell his grandchildren that he took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cheaply."

Netravalkar, who played for India in the 2010 U-19 World Cup and shared the dressing room with stars like KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, has demonstrated his potential and talent by delivering key performances against top-tier opposition.

Despite Netravalkar's efforts, India emerged victorious by seven wickets, with Suryakumar Yadav scoring an unbeaten 50 off 49 balls and Shivam Dube adding 31 off 35 balls. This win secured India's spot in the Super 8 stage.

The USA will play Ireland at Central Broward Regional Park on June 14 in an attempt to guarantee a spot in the Super 8 stage. India will play Canada on June 15 at the same venue.
