Afghanistan is all set to play their third league game against Papua New Guinea. This match will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

It has been a remarkable World Cup for Afghanistan. Their bowling attack has looked destructive. They have decimated Uganda and New Zealand and look strong to be in the Super Eights of the tournament. The Rashid Khan-led side needs to win one more match in order to ensure their qualification to the next round. They will be looking to maintain their momentum and steamroll Papua New Guinea in this game.

Most of the Afghan players have played their roles to perfection in the tournament. The opening pair of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, and Fazalhaq Farooqi have been the pillars of their dream run so far. The team will depend a lot on these players to continue their good work.

The only change that Afghanistan can make is to drop Najibullah Zadran and bring in Mohammad Ishaq in his place. Najibullah has not been able to deliver in the tournament with the bat, and it also looks like his game is not suited for this format. So, before the business end approaches, they can test Ishaq in their composition.

Afghanistan can also test out Noor Ahmad and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman together in their composition. In this case, they can leave Naveen-ul-Haq out. This can be done to test out all the combinations and keep their team ready for different playing conditions.
