'Four Pacers, No Spinner,' Afridi Lambasts Shan Masood's Pakistan For Tactical Blunders Vs Bangladesh

Pakistan's legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi has criticised the hosts for their disastrous loss in the first Test against Bangladesh. Led by Shan Masood, Pakistan had a poor outing on day five of the Test, as the Tigers handed them a crushing ten-wicket defeat at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Following Pakistan's abysmal performance in the Test, Afridi slammed the team management for failing to read home conditions and benching Abrar Ahmed on a track having significant assistance for the spinners.

"A 10-wicket defeat raises serious questions about the decision to prepare this type of pitch, select four fast bowlers and leave out a specialist spinner," Afridi Tweeted.

He also credited Bangladesh for outplaying the home team across departments.

"This to me clearly shows a lack of awareness about home conditions. That said, you cannot take the credit away from Bangladesh for the brand of cricket they played throughout the Test," he added.

Bangladesh script history with a remarkable win over Pakistan

Riding on Mushfiqur Rahim's sensational century, Bangladesh posted a mammoth score in response to Pakistan's first innings score of 448/6.

However, clinical spells from Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were instrumental in reducing the hosts to a paltry total, setting a mere 30-run target for the visitors.

Bangladesh chased the target successfully and took an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series. The decider will be played at the same venue on August 30.
