Ex-Pakistan cricketer, Basit Ali, who doesn't shy away from mincing his words, has taken a dig at pacer Shaheen Afridi, after his lacklustre performance against Bangladesh in 1st Test.

Afridi, lacked the cutting-edge as he picked up just 2 wickets in the entire match, and had a considerable drop in his pace. The left-arm seamer was easily tackled by the Bangladesh batters, as they notched up a mammoth 565 in their first innings, and eventually won the game by 10-wickets.

Shaheen Afridi, a burden on Team Pakistan?

Shaheen's failure to deliver goes back to last year, as the pacer suffered multiple injuries, and his pace dropped massively. He looked a pale shadow of himself, and as a result, Basit Ali has urged the fast bowler to go back to domestic cricket and get match-fit.

"Shaheen Afridi should be rested 100 per cent. He should go and play first-class cricket. He should be rested. Ali S put in a lot of effort. Pakistan failed in bowling, fielding and batting. They beat us in all departments. It is wrong to say that the team had a bad day," Basit Ali said on his YouTube channel.

Pakistan declared their first innings at 448/6, but their bowlers failed to back the batters and conceded 565 against the Tigers in their first innings.

The Pakistan batters fell like a pack of cards against the Bangladesh bowlers, and were dismissed for just 146. setting up a target of 30, which was chased easily.
