West Indies pacer, Shamar Joseph got the first breakthrough for his team in the second T20I against South Africa at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba as he picked the wicket of Ryan Rickelton and broke the strong 63-run opening partnership. 

Rickelton departed after scoring 20 off 13 balls.


In the fifth over, Shamar Joseph cunningly bowled a slower delivery at the leg stump.  Rickelton went for the pull shot however unfortunately for him, Matthew Forde was stationed at deep backward square leg. Forde juggled it before grabbing it safely and helping his team draw the first blood.


West Indies Take 2-0 Lead vs South Africa

Talking about the game, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. West Indies started good, with Alick Athanaze and Shai Hope adding 41 runs off 34 balls for the first wicket. Shai Hope then joined hands with Nicholas Pooran to add 42 runs for the second wicket before getting out for 41 off 22 balls. Eventually West Indies put up a target of 180 for the opposition to chase.

South Africa started exceptionally well as they scored 63 for the opening wicket in just 4.4 overs. However, as the game proceeded WI bowlers dismantled the the Proteas, securing a comfortable 30-run victory and taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
