'Everything Shubman Gill Has Done...,' Adam Gilchrist Predicts WC's Standout Performer

As we inch closer to the World Cup, there have been a lot of predictions from everyone. The former World Cup-winning cricketer, Adam Gilchrist predicts Shubman Gill as the standout performer for the World Cup 2023. 

Shubman Gill has been in exceptional form this year. He has already smashed over 1,000 runs in ODI cricket this year and still has a lot of games ahead of him. He is technically sound and has the ability to perform under pressure. He has been consistent in each format and has made a place for himself in the team. 


Shubman Gill could be a standout performer in WC, says Gilchrist

"Shubman Gill. Everything he has done at the international level, in every format, continues to amaze. He could possibly be one of the standout performers in the tournament. They have got a nice balance of experience, particularly of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. KL Rahul is an experienced player already and there's younger blood in and around that, is a nice balance."

In a recent interview with Sportstar, Adam Gilchrist, the former Australian World Cup-winning player, was asked about a player who is going to be the top performer of the tournament. To this question, Gilly answered ignoring the top batters like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and Babar Azam, and chose Shubman Gill as the top performer. 

The top-class batters have been in excellent form recently, whether it's Rohit or Kohli, but Gilly chose the 24-year-old young Indian sensation. Team India is currently taking on the Australians in the three-match ODI series and Gill is a part of the squad. With the senior players on rest, it will be interesting to see how Gill approaches.
