Whenever Jasprit Bumrah is on the field, his brilliance will be evident. The talismanic fast bowler on Friday (September 22) bowled a beauty of a delivery to outfox Josh Inglis, who seemed in control, batting on a run-a-ball 45 before losing his wicket.
The second ball of the 48th over of Australia's innings was a slower off-cutter pitched at length by Bumrah. While Inglis was preparing to play him over extra cover, he wasn't ready to tackle it at all.
Inglis attempted the shot too soon, and as a result, Shreyas Iyer completed an easy catch at extra cover before the ball went straight up in the air.
However, Mohammed Shami made headlines during India's clash against Australia in the first ODI of the three-match series in Mohali. The veteran fast bowler, coming in as a replacement of Mohammed Siraj, claimed five wickets for 51 runs off his 10 overs.
Australia, meanwhile, closed on 276 while losing all ten wickets after 50 overs. David Warner top-scored with a 53-ball 52, while Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Inglis failed to convert their starts into anything substantial.
