Navjot Singh Sidhu reveals that he used to earn 25 lakhs per game in the IPL, yet his interest lies not in money but in cricket, which he considers his hobby and passion.

The Sardar of the commentary box is making a comeback after a decade. It's confirmed that Navjot Singh Sidhu is returning to the IPL. Sidhu took a sabbatical from commentary around 10 years ago to focus on Kapil Sharma's show and his political aspirations. Now, he believes it's the right time to return.

In the early years of the IPL, Navjot Singh Sidhu's commentary added an X factor to the league. His enthusiastic commentary captivated the masses, making him a standout presence behind the mic. His exceptional performances led to offers from the entertainment world, prompting him to take a break from commentary.

Sidhu opened up about his journey as a commentator in a recent interview. He left cricket and joined as a commentator during the 1999 World Cup period.

"I left cricket and joined commentary and I did not know if this is something I could do. I was not very confident (initially) but 10-15 days into the World Cup, the word Sidhuism came up. I was walking in a lane no one was walking. It was the lane of Sidhuism."

Initially, Sidhu was earning around 60-70 lakhs for a tournament, which later increased to 25 lakhs per IPL game. However, for Sidhu, cricket was never about the money. His passion for the game always took precedence over financial gain.
