The much-anticipated India Vs Bangladesh Test series is set to commence from September 19 at the iconic M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The two-match Test series provides a great chance for both the sides to strengthen their position in the WTC points table.

The last time India played a Test series at home, they decimated England 4-1, and were the deserving winners. Despite missing the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the team excelled in all three departments and won the series despite losing the first match in Hyderabad.

Bangladesh shouldn't be overconfident: Gambhir

Bangladesh on the other hand sprung a surprise when they defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series. Pakistan looked toothless and Bangladesh took advantage of it, winning a series against them for the first time. The Najmul Hossain Shanto led side will be confident of beating India after resounding wins over Pakistan.

They have one of the best spin units, comprising the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan, and Taijul Islam. Their batters have performed exceedingly well in recent times and the Tigers can possess a tough challenge for the Indian side.

Ahead of the Test series, head coach, Gautam Gambhir attended the pre-game press conference and congratulated Bangladesh on defeating Pakistan. However, he stated that India are a completely different unit and Bangladesh will face a tough challenge on the Indian soil.

"I have been big believer that we don’t fear anyone but we respect everyone. It is the same with Bangladesh. We don’t look at the opposition and play the game we know," he says. "I Congralute them for what they did in Pakistan. But this is a new series and they are a quality side and we want to play good cricket. Yes they have experience in Shakib, Mushfiqur and Mehidy but we want to be switched on from the first ball."

Bangladesh have a chance to create history on Indian soil

Bangladesh have never beaten India in a Test match, and they have a chance to create history this time around. The team has excellent players, and boasts one of the best all-rounders in world cricket in the form of Shakib Al Hasan.

The Chepauk wicket will favour the spinners and Bangladesh will fancy their chances against the Indian batters who tend to struggle against spin-bowling. Moreover, after thrashing Pakistan, the Tigers will be riding high on confidence ahead of the first Test.
