On September 18, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially announced its squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the UAE. Led by Nigar Sultana Joty, the team is poised for a competitive outing in the tournament, facing off against formidable opponents in Group B.

Nigar Sultana Joty, a stalwart in Bangladeshi cricket, will captain the squad, bringing her wealth of experience and leadership to the forefront.

Bangladesh boasts strong bowling core

Veteran all-rounder Ritu Moni and dependable bowler Fahima Khatun will offer stability, while pace spearhead Jahanara Alam is expected to lead the fast-bowling attack with her extensive international experience. Spinner Nahida Akter is set to play a crucial role in the UAE’s expected slower conditions, offering strategic depth to the squad.

The squad also includes emerging talents such as Shorna Akter, Marufa Akter, and Rabeya, who will be eager to make their mark on the global stage.

Adding further depth to the lineup are Sobhana Mostary and Murshida Khatun, who are expected to bolster the batting department. Uncapped players Taj Nehar, Sultana Khatun, and Disha Biswas round out the squad as versatile all-rounders, enhancing the team’s balance and versatility across all departments.
