'Bumrah Is The Best In The World': Head Coach Gautam Gambhir Hails India's Greatest Asset
Bumrah has been India's best bowler since his debut [x]
Jasprit Bumrah made his international debut in 2016, and since then, he has changed the face of Indian cricket. Bumrah has an aura about him, which a very few fast bowlers possess. The pacer with an uncanny action is an all-format bowler, and time and again has delivered the goods for the Indian side.
Be it Test, ODIs, and T20I format, Bumrah has excelled in every format and that is the hallmark of a champion bowler. Recently he helped India win the T20 World Cup with his exceptional bowling and was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament for picking up 15 wickets at an average of less than 10.
Without Bumrah, Indian bowling lacks cutting-edge
Without Bumrah, the bowling attack looks toothless, and the team management is also taking care of his workload, giving him proper rest and playing him in only important matches.
Ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh, head coach, Gautam Gambhir attended the pre-series press conference and hailed Bumrah's impact in the Indian setup. He stated that in a nation that is obsessed with batters, Bumrah is cut from a different cloth.
"Jasprit Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world, across formats. It's great to have Bumrah in the dressing room, someone who can change the game at any point of time," he says. "India is a batting obsessed nation. But Bumrah, Ashwin and Jadeja are changing that. Bumrah is smart in Test cricket. It is good these guys are changing the trend."
Bumrah always delivers in clutch situations
The T20 World Cup 2024 belonged to Jasprit Bumrah. Whenever India needed a wicket, captain Rohit Sharma went to Bumrah, and he produced a wicket for his skipper. Mohammad Rizwan's wicket in the group stage game is a prime example of his calibre.
In a low-scoring game, Rizwan stood between India's victory, and when all the hopes were lost, Bumrah produced a magical spell to knock over Rizwan and seal the win for his side.
He also plucked the wicket of Babar Azam, as Indian superstar broke the backbone of the Pakistan batting unit.
He was also special in the Test series against England, earlier this year. On spin-friendly pitches, Bumrah delivered some of his best spells and decimated England with sheer pace and skills.
