Virat Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli, has slammed former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar for questioning Virat’s strike rate in IPL 2025. Manjrekar recently said that the battle between Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah is no longer a clash of the best players as the former is past his prime.

Virat Kohli is playing a good season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He is currently the second highest run scorer in the tournament with 443 runs in 10 games, including 6 half-centuries.

His strike rate stands at 138.87, which many believe is more than decent in tough batting conditions this season.

Vikas Kohli Responds To Manjrekar’s Criticism

Former Indian cricketer and now commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been praising players who score runs at very high strike rates and recently left Virat Kohli out of his top 10 batters list for the season.

Manjrekar’s list included players like Nicholas Pooran, Travis Head, Phil Salt, Shreyas Iyer, and Priyansh Arya, all of whom have strike rates above 150, some even above 200.

Vikas Kohli, Virat’s elder brother, didn’t take the remarks lightly. He took a jab at Manjrekar’s own career, posting:

“Mr Sanjay Manjrekar; Career ODI strike rate: 64.31. Easy to talk about 200 plus strike rates."

RCB are currently on top of the points table with 14 points from 10 matches. With just 2 more wins, they will qualify for the playoffs.

Kohli Reveals Strategy Behind RCB's Thrilling Win Over DC

RCB are on a red-hot streak in IPL 2025, and their latest victory over DC proved once again why they're serious title contenders. Chasing 163, RCB was in early trouble at 26/3. But a match-saving partnership between Kohli and Krunal Pandya turned the tide.

Pandya smashed 73 off 47 balls, while Kohli anchored the chase with a calm 51 from 47 deliveries. After the victory, speaking to the media, Kohli said that composure is required in adverse conditions and T20 is not all about hitting boundaries every moment.
