The second ODI between India and Sri Lanka is underway at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first for the second time in this series.
The Island Nation have dealt a major blow as their star seamer Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the series. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, at the toss, revealed that India will play with the same XI as the one in the 1st ODI.
Sharma also defended India's performance in the first ODI and stated that they cannot always play with same mindset and have to adapt to the conditions.
Notably, the Men in Blue failed to chase 231 runs in the series opener. Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were at the centre of criticism for their slow knocks. Thus, Rohit defended his side's intent in the first game and stated that they would look for a comeback in the ongoing game.
"It's okay. We know what to expect when you chase. We have spoken with the guys on what needs to be done. Hopefully, we will have a good game. It has to be. You cannot always go with the same mindset. You have to adjust the conditions that are in front of you. We have spoken about it a lot in the group. Adapt to the conditions and play freely. That's the most important thing. Don't think too ahead. Stay in the present."
Talking about Rohit, he was on fire in the first ODI as he scored a fifty.
