According to the Economic Times, in a significant move for the cricketing community, the sports division of India Cements and its workforce are set to integrate into Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd (CSKCL).

Rupa Gurunath, the whole-time director of India Cements and N Srinivasan's daughter, is expected to join the CSKCL board. With her extensive involvement in the franchise's management, she is anticipated to lead future expansion plans.

The future role of 79-year-old N Srinivasan in CSKCL remains uncertain due to his current health issues, and there is speculation about a potential honorary position on the board. Despite queries, CSKCL has not provided any comments.

According to several reports, Rupa Gurunath is also exploring the possibility of CSK entering the Women’s Premier League (WPL), evaluating the financial viability and the experiences of the five IPL franchises involved last year.

CSKCL plans to establish more training academies for schoolchildren, enhance fan engagement activities, and increase revenue through sponsorship and merchandise sales.

In the same report, it is also noted that India’s off-spinner R Ashwin has rejoined the India Cements group and will play a pivotal role in as a part of the CSK's expansion setup.

The 37-year-old cricketer was associated with India Cements until 2016 and played for CSK from 2008 to 2015.
