In the ongoing first ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India are off to an electrifying start while chasing a target of 231 runs. 

Indian skipper, who is playing his first ODI since the 2023 World Cup final, started his innings with a six. Meanwhile, Rohit went all guns blazing from the first delivery, as he brought up his 56th ODI fifty and that too in style with a maximum. 

Rohit took just 33 deliveries to reach his fifty. On the 2nd ball of the 10th over, Rohit smashed Akila Dananjaya for a six and with that he completed his 76th ODI fifty.

With the fifty, Rohit went on to break several records as he also completed 15,000 international runs as an opener. Also, it was Rohit's 234th international six and left behind Eoin Morgan for most sixes as a captain.
