The forthcoming 2023 World Cup match between Pakistan and hosts India at the majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has ignited a global frenzy. As cricket enthusiasts from around the world await the highly-anticipated showdown between the two rival nations, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam alluded to the significance of the high-profile contest and its potential to create lasting memories.

Babar Azam makes a bold claim prior to India vs Pakistan match

The majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to be graced by over 100,000 cheering spectators to enjoy India’s 2023 World Cup match-up with Pakistan. Moreover, the BCCI has also arranged a grand spectacle featuring Bollywood stars at the stadium for the mid-innings break.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam, fully aware of the carnival-like atmosphere during their highly-anticipated showdown with tournament hosts, said that his team is considering the match as a golden opportunity to perform well and become instant heroes in front of a large crowd in Ahmedabad.

A day prior to the India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023 fixture, the ‘Men in Green’ batting veteran, during a pre-match conference, said:

“Ahmedabad is a big stadium and a lot of fans are coming. So, this is a golden opportunity for us to perform well in front of the fans and become heroes.”

Both India and Pakistan are yet to lose a single game this 2023 World Cup, and will head into Ahmedabad for their immediate faceoff with an unbeaten record.

Under Rohit Sharma, the Indian team routed Australia and Afghanistan with convincing margins upfront. Meanwhile, a struggling Pakistan side roared back into form in the tournament by comfortably trumping over Netherlands and consigning Sri Lanka in a thrilling defeat in a World Cup record run-chase.
