Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam has stated that the side will miss the services of Naseem Shah, when they collide against India on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Naseem, one of the key players for Pakistan injured his shoulder during the Asia Cup 2023, and subsequently underwent a surgery, which will keep him out of action for at-least six months.

Alongside Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, Naseem formed a fearsome trio in white-ball cricket, but his absence created a panic in the Pakistan camp, as the team management went back to Hasan Ali as Naseem's replacement in the World Cup 2023.

Will miss Naseem: Babar Azam

Speaking to the journalists, a day prior to the much anticipated clash against India, captain Babar Azam rued Naseem's absence, and stated that the team will miss him against a formidable opponent like India.

" Yes, we will Miss Naseem Shah. The way he was bowling during Asia Cup was quite impressive. He was improving day-by-day as a bowler, and as a captain, I will miss him," Babar said at the pre-match press conference.

Babar also backed under-performing Shaheen Afridi, and stated that he is a champion bowler, and will bounce back with the ball against India.

"As far as Shaheen Afridi is concerned, he is a champion bowler, and is a big match player. I am sure he will perform in the next match."

Interestingly, Pakistan have never beaten India in a 50-over World Cup match, and Babar and his side will look to change the history, when the two sides meet on Saturday.
