'Babar Is A Defensive Captain..' - PAK Seamer Hails Shan Masood's Aggressive Leadership Ahead of BAN Tests

Pakistan will host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series starting on August 21. Ahead of the crucial series, PAK seamer Aamer Jamal hailed Shan Masood's leadership, while he called Babar a defensive captain. 

Jamal, who rose to fame during the tour to Australia in 2023, stated that he prefers playing under both captains, but rated Babar a defensive captain. Meanwhile, heaping praise for Shan, he stated that Masood looks to throw a punch for a punch. 


“When it comes to captaincy, both have their own different mindsets. Shan Bhai’s approach is different, and Bobby Bhai’s approach is different,” said the all-rounder. “I have had good terms with Shan Bhai since the time I played first-class cricket. When I joined the Pakistan team for practice bowling, he treated me very well.”


“Both have different mindsets. I believe Bobby Bhai is a bit defensive. He thinks about securing the team first. Shani Bhai is a bit aggressive as he believes if somebody throws a punch, you should too,” he added.

Shan Masood's Tenure As Pakistan Skipper

Shan Masood was appointed Pakistan's Test captain on November 15, 2023 when Babar Azam stepped down as Men in Green's captain following a disappointing 2023 World Cup in India. 

However, Masood's first assignment as captain did not go well as he is yet to win a game for Pakistan as captain and lost 0-3 against Australia.
