In an engaging podcast with Daily Dose of Cricket, Suyash Sharma, the 21-year-old sensation of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), known for his adept right-arm leg spin bowling, recounted his thrilling experiences from the Indian Premier League (IPL), especially highlighting the moments when cricket legends MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma graced the ground.

His vivid memories of the crowd's reaction to these icons, particularly Dhoni, are a testament to the cricket fever that sweeps through fans.

Suyash, who debuted last year and took 10 wickets in 11 matches, specifically reminisced about a match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Despite being KKR's home ground, he observed an overwhelming sea of yellow, indicating the massive support for Dhoni and CSK.

"When MS Dhoni arrived, it was like the arrival of God on earth. The crowd went crazy," Sharma revealed, expressing the deep admiration fans have for Dhoni.

"Our match was in Eden Gardens with CSK. Although the game was played on our field, supporters wearing blue jerseys were clad in CSK jerseys above. Additionally, the yellow jersey was taken off after Dhoni was dismissed. Our ground used to appear yellow," he said while having a grin.

This anecdote vividly illustrates the unique phenomenon where fans, donned in CSK jerseys over their blue outfits, would reveal their true allegiance only after Dhoni's dismissal, momentarily turning the stadium from yellow back to its team colors.

The young cricketer is gearing up for the IPL 2024 under the leadership of new captain Shreyas Iyer and mentor Gautam Gambhir, hopeful to make significant contributions to his team.
