In a gripping encounter between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2024 semi-final clash, Avesh Khan stole the spotlight with a spectacular bowling display. 

Vidarbha, after winning the toss and electing to bat, found themselves struggling at 169/8 by tea on day 1 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur.

Avesh Khan, the right-arm fast bowler from Madhya Pradesh, emerged as the standout performer, claiming four crucial wickets to put his team in a commanding position. 

Supported by Venkatesh Iyer, who chipped in with two wickets, Khan's fiery spell rattled Vidarbha's batting lineup.

During the 46th over of the innings, Avesh showcased his class by dismissing Akshay Wakhare and Yash Thakur in the same over. Wakhare fell victim to a well-directed incoming delivery that kept low, shattering his stumps.

On the last ball of the over, Thakur's attempt at an aggressive drive resulted in a thick edge, neatly pouched by wicketkeeper Himanshu Mantri.
