India's star opener, Rohit Sharma, had a series of prolific outings against Australia in the recently concluded three-match ODI series. The star batter racked up 202 runs at an average of 101.0. His highest innings score of 121* came in the 3rd ODI at Sydney while he paired up with Virat Kohli.
Speaking of the massive 168-run partnership with his teammate, Rohit opened up on the Australia tour, the grind ahead of the tour and what he enjoyed the most during his stay Down under.
Rohit Sharma on having mutual mindset with Kohli
In a recent video released by BCCI on their official website, Rohit Sharma expressed his raw feelings after the 3rd ODI win, even after the 2-1 series defeat. Rohit started off by crediting the bowlers who restricted Australia's batting lineup to just 236.
Progressing further, Rohit shared his feelings on batting and pairing up with Virat Kohli after a long gap. He was vocal about missing the opportunity to swing the bat alongside the RCB star.
"Fantastic partnership after a long, long time. We didn't have a 100-run partnership for a long time. We enjoyed every moment, there was a lot of chatter between the two of us," Rohit said.
Rohit then illustrated how things went down during their partnership on the crease. Rohit just credited the mutual understanding between them that led to breaking many milestones on the Australian soil.
"We played so much cricket together, we understand each other really well. It was just about understanding what was required at that time and with so much experience between the two of us I think we used that really well," Rohit added.
Rohit praises Harshit Rana's efforts
Wrapping up with the partnership story, Rohit then didn't forget to mention the contributions of Harshit Rana, who was severely trolled upon his selection in the ODI series.
"Harshit Rana is playing white ball cricket for the first time in Australia and looking at how he bowled at Adelaide and Sydney was a fantastic effort," Rohit said.
Rana bagged 6 wickets in the series, where 4 of them came in the 3rd ODI itself. He was wicketless at Perth and scored two in Adelaide.
Adelaide crowd appreciation
Lastly, Rohit concluded by thanking the Australian crowd and also sharing a note of gratitude for all the people who supported him during his prep phase for the Australia grind.
"Very grateful to people standing beside me. Whenever we played people have come out and supported the entire team and that was good to see. In australia the crowd never disappoints. They want to watch quality cricket. Unfortunately we couldn't cross the line in the series but I enjoyed coming here and playing here," Sharma concluded.
With India's next ODI series lined up against South Africa from November 30, Rohit will get a month-long break before returning to his national duties.
