Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli led India’s juggernaut against Australia in the third ODI to avoid a rare series whitewash. The legendary opening batter notched up his 33rd ODI century, while elite number three roared back into form with a sizzling fifty.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the third ODI of the three-match series between Australia and India, as it panned out at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Saturday, October 25.

Harshit Rana restricts Australia to 236 with four-fer

Australia got off to a flier with a swift 61-run partnership between captain Mitchell Marsh (41 off 50) and firebrand Travis Head. Mohammed Siraj got the opening breakthrough for India with the wicket of Head, before Axar Patel knocked over a well-set Marsh at 88-2. Washington Sundar dismissed Matthew Short (30 off 41) and Matt Renshaw, with the latter of the two top-scoring in the innings through his near run-a-ball 56.

As Australia reached a commanding 183-3, Harshit Rana scythed through the rest of the hosts batting line-up with a sensational four-wicket haul, claiming figures of 4-39 in his 8.4 overs. Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with a crucial wicket each as India folded up Australia for just 236 in 46.4 overs in the dead-rubber.

Rohit Sharma tons up, Virat Kohli gets back into runs as India win

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill raced to 69 runs in 10.2 overs, until the latter nicked one towards Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey off Josh Hazlewood for 24. Rohit, however, maintained his tempo as he was joined by his yesteryear teammate Virat Kohli at the crease.

The two cricketers forged an unbeaten 168-run partnership for the second wicket to take India home with nine wickets and more than 11 overs to spare. Rohit Sharma himself tonked 121* runs off just 125 balls with 13 boundaries and three sixes to hammer his 33rd ODI century. Virat Kohli also hauled 74* off 81 balls as India successfully avoid a rare series whitewash.
