India's troubles have further deepened after losing two consecutive matches against New Zealand in the on-going Test series at home. Rohit Sharma and co have a lot of analysing and strategising to do ahead of the must-win third Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai begins from 1 November onwards.

Weighing on India's desperate need to make a win in order to keep their WTC Final hopes alive, former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra has opined that India would not want to lose the third Test by stating that they would not want to create the forgetful record of losing a home series by 0-3, a first in the team's history, in the Gautam Gambhir era.

Chopra Requests Gambhir and Rohit

He said that the upcoming game is not a dead rubber as previously the Indian team might have lost two-match series however they have never been whitewashed in a three-match series and Rohit Sharma led India would hope to not break that record.

"It's not a dead rubber. There are two things in this. Firstly, never have we ever lost a three-match home series 3-0. We were whitewashed once in a two-match series but it has never happened in a three-match series. We are on the threshold of that record as well. Don't break it," he said.

He further also requested India to win this clash since the WTC points are also involved. India, who were previously in a relatively easier spot in terms of their qualification for the WTC Final 2025, now need four wins from six games in order to make it.

"Please win this match because WTC points are also involved. You will get 33% points (for the series) if you win this match. So many infamous records have already been created in Gautam Gambhir's tenure. Then you say you don't want to break any more records," Chopra added.

India Aim To Bounce Back Stronger

Meanwhile, India's biggest 'stress' has been their batting line-up. They are lacking their usual ability to threaten the opposition and the New Zealand bowlers have been seen taking the advantage of that evidently in the last two games.

In order to win the third and final Test, India would hope to bring their A-game back and their batters would aim to not crumble under times of duress and put up a respectable and fighting total on the scoreboard on the Mumbai pitch.
