Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder, Swapnil Singh who had recently opened up about his recent struggles in the domestic circuit has yet again come out and discussed his conversations with Virat Kohli who was his teammate in U15 and U19 and how the legend has changed for good in this while.

Swapnil was given a go by the RCB after being an unused sub in the initial days of the season and was instrumental in a few games where they were able to turn the tides for themselves after 7/8 losses. After failing to qualify for the final, the southpaw, in a podcast, told how Virat has changed from his U19 days.

"We played together in U19 and U15, he [Kohli] was a very flamboyant personality at that time but when I met him this time, there was a huge change in him. He is into himself, he's become calmer, loves to spend time with his family and talks less but talks wisely."

On the tips that the ex-RCB skipper offered him before and during the season,

"He told me to stick to the basics and strengthen them. When you are doing well, you need to focus more and more on the basics. We talked a lot and he kept telling me the same thing."

"When a legend of Virat's stature who has nobody close to him tells you about basics, then you become mentally sorted as well and focus on the right things alongside some obvious tactical changes," told the 33-year-old.

About the difference in how the ex-India captain conducts himself on and off the field,

"Off the field, he is a polar opposite of how he is on it. On the field, he is constantly hunting and he is right opposite off it," Swapnil concluded.

Virat Kohli will now feature for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 where the Men in Blue will kickstart their campaign on 5th of June against Ireland.
