Clarke believes that India, despite their decade-long ICC trophy drought, possesses the prowess to clinch victory in the tournament set to take place in the USA and West Indies. In an interview with ESPN Australia, Clarke emphasized India's strength.

"India is the biggest threat to Australia in the T20 World Cup. India is the favorite to win it." 

India's T20 World Cup 2024 journey kicks off with a match against Ireland on June 5 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. 

Led by Rohit Sharma, the team will then face arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9, followed by clashes against the US on June 12 and Canada on June 15 in the league stage. Clarke's endorsement aligns with former England World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan's support for India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
