The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) met Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 11 in their solitary face-off of IPL 2024. Batting first, Dinesh Karthik put on a show as he scored an unbeaten 23-ball-53, taking on MI's bowling. Following the end of the season, Karthik has revealed how Hardik Pandya sledged him during the aforementioned match.

In the recent show for Cricbuzz, DK opened up about how Hardik tried to pull his strings by trying to comment on his game despite turning a commentator,

"Hardik Pandya sledged me then I played a couple of shots and then he was like ‘Looks like he has improved a bit. He was also like even after becoming a commentator, he is working on his game, that was fun,” told DK.

In another funny banter, the MI captain also called out on Karthik's weakness against the leg-spin. As told by Karthik. He had to play some shots to the spinner to shut Hardik.

"Hardik Pandya also sledged me saying ‘Abhi leg spinner aaya, iska thank you hi hai. Then I had to play a couple of shots and then he was like ‘Theek hai, thoda improve hogaya lag raha hai’. He was also like ‘Commentator banke bhi thoda kaam kar raha hai," said the 38-year-old.

Despite not making it to the final, Dinesh Karthik, who recently called it a day from IPL cricket enjoyed a great season on personal note. In 13 innings, he scored 326 runs at a strike rate of 187.4 and averaging 41. He also almost pulled off a run-chase of 287 against SRH single handedly, scoring 83 (35).
