Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar recently shared glimpses of a fun golfing session with the West Indies legend, Brian Lara, on social media.

Tendulkar and Lara are cricketing legends whose legacies are unparalleled. Few can even dream of reaching the heights they achieved. During their playing days, there was constant debate about who was superior, a conversation that continues as they remain atop the run-scorers list even after retiring.

Throughout their careers, which spanned over two generations of teammates, Lara and Tendulkar scored runs globally against the most formidable bowling attacks. Tendulkar holds the record for the most centuries in both Tests and ODIs, while Lara’s scores of 400 and 501 not out set world records for the highest individual scores in Test and first-class cricket.

The rivalry between Tendulkar and Lara was a focal point during their careers, and it endures even after they have hung up their boots.

This time, they decided to keep their competitive spirit alive through a friendly golf session, a moment Tendulkar shared on Instagram. The cricket legend summarized their game, noting that both played ‘attacking shots,’ frequently took the ‘aerial route,’ and maintained good ‘timing.’

The relentless comparisons between Tendulkar and Lara during their careers set a high standard for player comparisons today, often leading to subjective debates.

Despite their on-field rivalry, Tendulkar and Lara shared a strong bond, especially when India and the West Indies faced off. Together, they scored an astonishing 56,715 international runs, creating a history that is difficult to match.
