The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 season has turned out to be a run-fest for the batters, particularly for the ones residing within the South Delhi Superstarz playing group. In match number 23 of the competition, the Superstarz shattered numerous batting records by racking up a 300-plus total.

Celebrating the high-scoring nature of the tournament, here at OneCricket, we take a look at five of the highest totals recorded in DPL 2024.

5. South Delhi Superstarz 228-4 vs West Delhi Lions

South Delhi Superstarz hammered down 228 runs from 20 overs at the expense of just four wickets against the West Delhi Lions in match number 13 of the DPL 2024 season. Opening batter Priyansh Arya set the tone at the top by cracking 45 runs from 26 balls, and his blistering start was complimented by captain Ayush Badoni, who made a six-laden 28-ball 57 at number three. 

Wicketkeeper-batter Tejaswi Dahiya also smacked six sixes in his 23-ball 57 in the slog overs to set up the humungous total for his side. Later on, the Superstarz batting blitzkrieg turned out to be 69 runs better than the best efforts of West Delhi Lions batters in the run-chase.

4. South Delhi Superstarz 235-3 vs Purani Dilli-6

A day after flogging West Delhi Lions bowlers, South Delhi Superstarz set sights on Purani Dilli-6 for yet another potential batting rampage. Batting first in match 15 of the season, the Superstarz pounded 235-3 from 20 overs courtesy of Priyansh Arya’s unbeaten ton. The youngster made 107* from just 55 balls with nine boundaries and seven sixes, and was joined by Ayush Badoni in his all-out six-hitting assault. 

Badoni himself blasted 56 from 20 while wicketkeeper-batter Tejaswi Dahiya tonked a whirlwind 18 off eight balls. Their collective batting efforts set up a huge 88-run win for the South Delhi Superstarz.

3. East Delhi Riders 241-0 vs Purani Dilli-6

Without the loss of a single wicket, East Delhi Riders amassed 241 runs from 20 overs with both their openers intact in the innings in match number 20 of the DPL 2024 season. Taking a hapless Purani Dilli-6 attack to the cleaners, opener Anuj Rawat listed 121* off those runs from just 66 balls with six boundaries and 11 sixes. 

His partner Sujal Singh, on the other hand, scored 108* at an even higher strike-rate of 189.47, launching seven boundaries and nine sixes in his 57-ball turbulent knock. In response, Purani Dilli-6 also racked up a 200-plus total but fell 26 runs short of their high-scoring pursuit.

2. South Delhi Superstarz 254-5 vs Central Delhi Kings

Serial six-hitters South Delhi Superstarz accrued 254-5 against the Central Delhi Kings on August 28 in the 18th match of the DPL 2024 season. After getting elected to bat first, usual suspect Priyansh Arya responded with an 88-run juggernaut from just 42 deliveries with seven boundaries and six sixes. 

Captain Ayush Badoni clobbered five sixes and eight boundaries in his turbulent 32-ball 76-run knock at number three. Middle-order batters Dhruv Singh and Vision Panchal also played their parts with swift cameos in the slog overs to set up a huge win for the Superstarz.

1. South Delhi Superstarz 308-5 vs North Delhi Strikers

Batting first, South Delhi Superstarz mounted the first 300-plus total of DPL 2024 by clattering North Delhi Strikers bowlers in the 23rd match of the season. Opener Priyansh Arya lit up the stage with a 50-ball 120, and formed a colossal 286-run partnership for the second wicket with Ayush Badoni. Arya smacked 10 sixes in his innings, including six in succession off a single Manan Bhardwaj over. Badoni, meanwhile, raged with 19 sixes and eight boundaries to detonate 165 runs from just 55 balls with a strike-rate of 300.

Arya and Badoni’s six-hitting party blazed the South Delhi Superstarz to 308-5 by the completion of their 20 overs, as they recorded yet another win in the DPL 2024 season.
