Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fielding coach, Jonty Rhodes has dropped a massive hint on the arrival of Rohit Sharma into the squad for the next IPL season.

Rohit Sharma has become a curious case for all the IPL franchises. He was their undisputed leader for a decade, and helped the franchise win 5 IPL titles. However, that all changed when Hardik Pandya, the ex-GT skipper was appointed MI's new leader.

Fans turned on Hardik, and that had an adverse effect on Mumbai's performance, as they failed to reach the playoffs. Reports also circulated that Rohit wants an exit route from the franchise, with other 9 teams on high-alert.

Fuelling fire to the rumours, LSG's fielding coach, Jonty Rhodes recently stated that they are ready to welcome Rohit, if the former MI skipper decides to put his name in the auction. Rhodes also added the India legend is a great player and every franchise would love to have him in their squad.

"If Rohit Sharma comes into the auction, LSG is ready to welcome him. He's such a great player, every team will be glad to go for him," Rhodes said to News24.

Rohit's arrival likely to hamper KL Rahul's position in squad

If Rohit indeed arrives in the LSG squad ahead of next season, that would mean the end of the road for KL Rahul as the LSG skipper.

In IPL 2024, KL had an heated argument with team owner Sanjiv Goenka, and reports added that the Lucknow based franchise are looking for a new leader, who would replace KL Rahul.

Rohit, being the captain of the Indian team, fits in perfectly in the parameter. He has the experience of captaining in the IPL, and is arguably the most successful leader in the cash-rich league's history.
