During a brand event in Mumbai, Virat Kohli recalled a hilarious incident where his former teammates Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan and Munaf Patel pranked him in his early days. He was told to bow down to legend Sachin Tendulkar as a mark of respect, but Kohli ended up embarrassing himself.

Ahead of the Border Gavaskar Test series against Australia, superstar Indian cricketer Virat Kohli took some time to fulfil his off-field commitments. He attended an event hosted by HSBC Bank and had an interesting conversation with popular sports host Gaurav Kapur. During the event, Kohli elaborated on an infamous prank that embarrassed him in front of legend Sachin Tendulkar.

When Virat Kohli touched Sachin Tendulkar's feet!

Virat Kohli made his debut in 2008 during the Sri Lanka tour but got to share the dressing room with Sachin Tendulkar for the first time in the following home series against England.

As a rookie, Kohli was nervous being in a room full of veterans, and Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Munaf Patel took advantage of that. They pranked Virat Kohli and asked him to bow down to Tendulkar, stating it's a ritual newcomers must follow.

Meanwhile, an innocent Kohli got on board and bowed down to touch Sachin Tendulkar's feet in the dressing room. However, Sachin immediately stopped him and revealed that he had been pranked, leaving Kohli embarrassed in front of his hero.

That being said, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar went on to play together until the latter's retirement in 2013. The former legend still ranks Kohli very highly for the glory he's achieved in the past decade.

Will BGT 2024-25 be Kohli’s last dance?

Virat Kohli, once reckoned as the greatest modern-day batter, is struggling to keep his place in the Test team following a catastrophic home series against New Zealand. He scored 93 runs in 6 innings with an average below 16.

Now, many believe that the BCCI will take tough calls following the 5-game Test series against Australia, which involves dropping seniors including Kohli and Rohit Sharma. If the rumour comes true, it will indeed be a sad end to an inspiring and extraordinary career.
