Of late, Ishan Kishan has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. After the recent turn of events, the BCCI seemed miffed with the Jharkhand based cricketer.

It all started when Ishan Kishan left the Indian camp midway during India’s tour of South Africa in November, citing mental fatigue. When asked about his unavailability, head coach Rahul Dravid categorically stated that the southpaw must make himself available to be considered for selection.

After Kishan opted not to participate for his state team in the ongoing Ranji Trophy matches, BCCI issued notice to all the players to participate in the first-class tournament if they are not on national duty.

As per recent reports, Ishan Kishan is now set to make his return in the DY Patil tournament. Though, he still hasn’t made himself available for his state team but keen to focus on the upcoming IPL tournament.

With India team set to play the T20 World Cup this year, all the eyes will be on the Indian Premier League 2024. The selectors would be having a keen look at the tournament and select the squad based on that.

Ishan Kishan has been a prolific run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Over the years, MI have made some of the expensive bids to grab the services of high-quality players and Ishan Kishan is one of them.

Back in the 2022, the most successful franchise shelled out a whopping amount of INR 15.25 crores to buy the services of Ishan Kishan. They had to release him ahead of the mega auction in 2022. However, they managed to rope him back into the set-up by making the biggest bid for him.

With that, he also became the most expensive player at the 2022 IPL Auction. He also surpassed Rohit Sharma, who was retained by the franchise for INR 15 crore. Kishan made his arrival at Mumbai Indians back in 2018 after the franchise bagged his services for 6.2 crores.

He put in consistent performances for the franchise and became a mainstay in a short period of time. The 25-year-old was the highest run-scorer for the franchise in the 2020 edition, racking up 516 runs in 14 matches.

Overall, he has played 91 matches in his IPL career thus far, scoring 2342 runs at a strike rate of 134.26.
