'Fit Enough To Practice But...' - Pathan Slams Ishan Kishan For Prepping With Pandya Brothers

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan recently took to social media to express his bewilderment over the absence of Ishan Kishan from domestic cricket despite being seen practicing. Kishan, who withdrew from the recent Test series against South Africa citing fatigue, has not been part of India's squads since then, raising questions about his availability and readiness to return to international cricket.

Pathan's comments come at a time when Kishan's absence from competitive cricket has drawn attention, especially with India's wicketkeeping slot in flux. While Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Indian team, has emphasised the importance of Kishan getting some game time before making a comeback, the young cricketer's decision to focus on practice rather than playing domestic matches has left many perplexed.

The situation is particularly intriguing given Kishan's recent training sessions with fellow cricketers - Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya - at the Kiran More Academy in Baroda. His exclusion from both domestic and international matches despite being fit enough to practice has raised questions about the logic behind such decisions.

In the ongoing Test series against England, India has struggled to find a reliable wicketkeeper-batsman, with KS Bharat failing to make a significant impact with the bat. Kishan's past performances in Test cricket, though limited, have shown promise, making his absence all the more conspicuous.

Having made his Test debut during India's tour of West Indies last year, Kishan showcased glimpses of his talent with a composed innings. However, his subsequent absence from the national side has left fans and experts alike wondering about the reasons behind his prolonged break from competitive cricket.
