India’s wicket-keeper batsman, Ishan Kishan will be making his comeback on the field in the DY Patil tournament. The southpaw has been grabbing headlines since leaving the Indian camp midway through India's tour of South Africa. He hasn't turned up on the field since November, last year.

However, after the BCCI issued notices to players to participate in the Ranji Trophy games, Kishan has decided to make a return. Though he is yet to turn up for the Jharkhand team in the first-class tournament.

As per previous reports, Ishan Kishan was disappointed for not getting enough chances to play for India despite being in the squad for most of the series. Much to everyone’s surprise, he left the Indian camp midway during the tour of South Africa, citing mental fatigue issues. Since then, he has been out of action.

When asked about his unavailability in the series, head coach Rahul Dravid stated that the Jharkhand player must make himself available to be considered for selection. In his absence, KS Bharat, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan have been given the nod for the wicket-keeper role in the ongoing India vs England Test series.

As per a report by Dainik Bhaskar, it has now been confirmed that Ishan Kishan will be making his comeback in the upcoming DY Patil tournament. The report further said that he took a break to spend time with his family members.

The 25-year-old, recently, made headlines after he was spotted practicing with the Pandya brothers in Vadodara. A video of him practicing with the duo went viral on social media.

The Indian team are currently playing a five-match Test series against England. It is pertinent to note that this will be the last international assignment for the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Indian star batter, Virat Kohli has pulled out from the remaining three Tests. Earlier, he withdrew from the first two Tests as well, citing personal reasons. Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the second Test match due to a hamstring injury, will be making his comeback ahead of the third Test.

KL Rahul was also deemed fit to play but as per the latest developments, he has been ruled out of the third Test due to a sore knee. Karnataka’s batter, Devdutt Padikkal has replaced him in the squad.
