Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni have a long history with each other. During their playing days, rumours always circulated that the two cricketers never liked each other and maintained distance.

During India's infamous tour of Australia in 2012, the MS Dhoni led Indian side were whitewashed in the Test series, and had a rocky patch in the triangular series, featuring Australia and Sri Lanka.

The team struggled for wins and there were animosity within the side. During the tri-series, MSD took a bold call and opted for a rotation policy, dropping senior players in Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir. Instead he gave chances to youngsters like Rohit Sharma.

How 'slow' fielder MS Dhoni took a dig at MS Dhoni

Moreover, MS Dhoni also took a dig at Sehwag, calling him slow, a statement which didn't go well with the dashing opener.

Here's what Dhoni said during a press conference: "It might happen (they, playing together), but it would affect our fielding in a big way. It's not only these three, there are other players who are slow as well. These fielders are not slow, but on big fields in Australia, they are slightly on the slower side."

In one of the games of the tri-series, Sehwag showed his fielding skills and took a diving catch. After the match, it was Sehwag's time to turn the tides and he responded MS Dhoni in his own style.

"Have you seen my catch?' Sehwag said after the game. But you have to ask Dhoni again. He told us to give chance to youngsters and come here and play the next World Cup."

Sehwag played his last international game in 2015, and has carved a great legacy, which is undoubtedly one of the best in Indian cricket.
