Even before he could settle in, Mayank Agarwal threw his wicket away and was dismissed for a golden duck in the ongoing Maharaja T20 2024 match between Bengaluru Blasters and Hubli Tigers.

He has had mediocre outings in the last couple of matches and the trend continued as he once again failed to deliver the goods and left his side in a tricky situation.

Hubli Tigers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision was instanly rewarded with the prized scalp of skipper Agarwal. Kaverappa bowled a length ball outside the off, with fielders surrouding the cover region.

Agarwal wanted to go over the top, but couldn't get the elevation as the ball went straight into the hands of the cover fielder.

Agarwal looked shell-shocked, as the timing was impeccable, but the plan worked for Hubli Tigers, who had the fielder perfectly placed at the cover region.

Agarwal has not had the best of tournament. He has struggled for runs, and the dry patch continued in the ongoing contest as well.

Talking about the contest, Bengaluru Blasters lost two more quick wickets after the dismissal of captain Agarwal. The only person, who put up a fight was Chethan LR, who scored a gritty 48 as the Bengaluru team are struggling at 79/5.
